Which is the best career for myself?
These are things that interest me: TV/Film actor, Print Journalism, Entertainment Lawyer, Dramatic Writing, Talent Agent, or Music Business. My dream ever since I was 5 was to act. It is my number 1 passion. I love it, and I’m a tv and film actor. I have to agents. I have one here in Atlanta and one in Nashville. The only thing is the rejection part. I don’t like it, but I’m use to it. I just don’t know how much longer I can wait for it to come true. I have got nothing yet. I was with Ford Models in ATL (before they were Arlene Wilson) for two years, but there gone now. I just signed with another agent, and the one in Nashville I haven’t got anything. I’m a freshman in high school as of now. I don’t like theatre that much, but maybe I will get back into it. I’m in it now in HS, and don’t like it. I have always been told to have a back up plan for acting. My goal is to go to Bard College at Simon’s Rock at 16 and then transfer to NYU or USC. I would get to graduate two years early, and get a AA also. I think I can get a NYC agent even though it is a couple hours away. I always wanted to go to NYU, but USC is in LA so more acting opportunities. I would double major at NYU in acting and journalism. I wouldn’t at USC since there more theatre, but may minor. I would be a transfer student/junior. I also love to write, and would love to be a journalist. I think I would like working for Upfront Magazine, NY Times, Rolling Stone, Variety, and etc. I also think I may like foreign things too. I was looking at Columbia and Sciences Po dual journalism program for two masters degree later on which looks interesting. I have already wrote things, and I am planning on sending it in to newspapers or magazines. It could be a back up plan, but it is another passion of mine. A Entertainment Lawyer is something I would be interested in. I don’t know how I would like it though. I would never want to be a Lawyer for things such as a murder trial. I can’t go on trial and help someone who I know is guilty and is an ax murderer. I think it is different for an Entertainment Lawyer though. What kinds of things would I do? I do like to argue and persue people. It sounds very intresting to me. I also would like to do TV Writing, and write about tv shows. It does intrest me. I don’t know if I would major in it, but NYU has a certificate program in it. I think later on I think I can own my own talent agency or maybe work for one when I’m in college. I know Columbia has a law and journalism dual degree, but I really like the Sciences Po one. Can I go to NYU’s law after the two masters? How will I afford this. I’m more of the upper middle class with two other brothers. One who is a year older and wants to go into culinary. The other is 3 years younger and wants to be a pharmasist. I don’t want to be in too much debt at a young age. I’m from South Florida, but now live in Metro Atlanta. I hate Georgia though. I grew up in the suburbs, and I am 14. I also make good grades, I may do a little worse this semester in math (C or D) because of a teacher problem. I usually get all A’s and a B or two. I’m smart and mature. What do you think? What is your feedback? Thanks!
I also want to do this thing for NYU for high school students in Dublin. It would be next year when I would go to Bard- SR. It's for acting,
. Thanks, again!
I did not mean in that way. I have been acting since 5 so I know rejection. I love it and know it and am use to it. I just meant that this buisness is all about luck and I was saying I don't know when my day will be so I should have back up plans. I should have just rewrote…
It all depends on what you enjoy and what talents you have. For instance, I=
was in sales for a few years, so to do that career, you need to like peopl=
e and enjoy schmoozing.
If I liked people less, and had an eye for detail I might consider somethin=
g like accounting.
I know you like acting and journalism, so you must be extroverted and like =
to write–so being a journalist would be a great idea because the extrovers=
ion would help you be comfortable interviewing people, and once you’ve inte=
rviewed them, you can write about them.
If you’re thinking about journailism, try writing a weeklt blog online and =
see what reaction you get and see if you enjoy writing regularly. If you li=
ke to act, join a commuity theatre or audition for commercials.
Whatever careers you’re thinking about, try practicing or volunteering in a=
place where these things are done and see if you like the environment. For=
instance, with your background, vounteer at a public radio station and se=
e if you might enjoy broadcasting.Oh, law is good too because you need to have some acting skills to present a case to a jury or to deal with the opposition.

Am i wrong?
i've been in a relationship for three years, and for the better part of thoes three years we've been apart. the first year i was at college and the next year i went to culinary school while she was at college. so for my internship i went to nyc because that is where i thought she wanted to go she decided to stay in charlotte and i went to nyc so after that was over i came to charlotte to be with her. and for the past 6 months all we do is fight and argue. now i'm going to atlanta to take a great job and this means that we're going to break up. does it sound like im giving up? should i reconsider? i mean we are only 21.
Sweetheart, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result.
Have you considered that the only reason you two lasted this long was because of the distance? She has no intention of ever leaving Charlotte. You want different things. You need to break up so she can find a local boy and you can start your new life without any imaginary chains holding you down.
You will be really busy proving yourself when you start your new job. Congratulations — you're going to love it, and you're going to meet all kinds of new people. When you're single, it is much easier to put in extra time and take advantage of opportunities that you would miss otherwise. Enjoy!
