Anyone from Arizona?
I was thinking of moving to Arizona, I want to go to the culinary school of Scottsdale, Does anyone know how the school is? How is it in Arizona is it really hot? (dry heat or humid)? Is there a lot of crime? are there a lot of jobs? because I'm from NY and I've never been over to the west side.
lived here for 15+ years now.
definite dry heat in the summer but there are plenty of public pools, nearby lakes and a drive up north to cooler temps is only about 2 hours.
the school i've heard is a good one (i work in healthcare so don't know first hand) and scottsdale is a nice area. you can find a decent apartment for a good price.
phoenix is crime-ridden but what big city isn't? just avoid living near downtown and you'll be fine.
there are a ton of jobs out here just b/c we're like the 5th largest city in the nation!! so you'll have no trouble finding a job.
our public transportation system isnt too bad (could be better i've heard) and traffic can be unbearable if you'll be driving your own car.
overall i think it's a good move-the summers are rough until you get used to them but the rest of the year is awesome weather wise
good luck with your move

The school is good. Dry heat for sure. humid at times in the summer, but not like the east coast. there's crime, but don't let that deter you, there's not oo much. decent amount of jobs.

I don't know about the school, but I lived in Phoenix for three years. It's a dry heat and it can be very uncomfortable for 4 months. You need a car (white with good a/c). There is alot of crime in areas of south and west Pho., but Scottsdale is not crime-ridden, with the exception of auto theft. Phoenix has a good economy because of all the growth so employment should'nt be too hard to find.

I have lived here for 18 years and love it. All the big restaurants hire out of the La cord an blu school in Scottsdale. It is a dry heat for the most part we have our so called rainy season in June,July, august were it is humid at night. Crime is not too bad but you have crime every where. Lots of jobs in Arizona.
